Cloudy with a chance of hands in the pants

Last night we went to daughter #1's school for family fun night and they showed the movie, Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs.

My girls did great! They sat and snuggled and watched the movie. Yay! Then....there were some of the other kids....

I swear I wanted to hide in ebarrassment FOR the parents. The kids were running around kicking people, yelling and one little dude stood in front of everyone with his hands down his pants playing with his junk for like ten minutes! and I mean RIGHT in front of everyone. I had to distract my girls!

This begs the question, is it the parents fault when kids act like that? Or is it just the nature of the kid? I think I would have a heart attack if my kids acting like that!

I always freak out when my kids act like...kids. It's way more stressful to me (usually) when they "act up" but I also want them to act respsctful in public. I think it could be a combination of things--the parents and the kids just doing what others are allowed to do.

I think it's a total combination. Kids are going to be kids. But on the other hand if I acted the way some of the kids nowadays act when I was little I would have gotten my ass kicked!
It's important for parents to try to instill some respect and manners into their children. And hopefully they will eventually pick up on this and learn to behave. I've encountered some rude ass kids out there and their parents do nothing about it.

Oh my gosh! How embarrassing! I work with 7 year olds all day and I can say that while a lot of it is the kid and their personality, a lot of it can be attributed back to the parent. Sometimes boundaries are not clearly set and soon after parents just give up.

Oh man, I totally think it's a combination. I do think kids will be kids but the parents also need to step up and discipline, teach right from wrong/appropriate from inappropriate. I'd die if my kids acted like that. We'd have been so outta there...

hello dear bloggy friend.
kids are so redonkulous sometimes.
seriously. my cousin used to do that thing (playing with himself in public) when we were kids. its like omg ew! lol
but then i think the only thing worse than having to see that is having to be the parent of that kid.
like,
1. why is my offspring doing this? is it something in my genes? and
2. how do you get them to stop, you have to have a baby version of "the talk" with them?
this is why i cannot be a mom.
the idea of having to stop my son from touching his ding dong in public makes me want to die just a little :)
happy monday lady! hopefully soon ill be back to my bloggy ways so we can interact :)

I feel as if I am always blaming the parents, but I truly do believe this to be the case. I would never allow my kids to do this. If they didn't stop, we would leave. These parents are doing nothing but 'bad' to their kids allowing them to behave this way.

I have learned to not judge other parents too harshly because even the best behaved kids can have bad days...in public. However I draw the line at playing with your junk in front of people.

Where the parents there? My daughter's school has movie night once a month, and we just drop 'em off.

I CANNOT figure out how to add you to the reader blog roll. Your feed won't "recognize" and it stopped feeding into my blog roll as well. Any ideas? I realize that I'm tech-y challenged, but this is ridiculous!

I would say its the parents fault...if their kids act up, it would only seem polite to take them out... Then again, what can I say...I don't have kids yet. hehe
